I finished some cookies I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. After following the totally fabulous Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle blog I have been inspired to make more decorated cookies. The key ingredients for decorating cookies are patience and time and I’m afraid once my 4 little kidlets are finally asleep I’m too exhausted to stand up in the kitchen and decorate cookies. Seeing the decorated cookies on Callye’s blog has definately inspired me to make the time to practice more starting with my first attempt at Hello Kitty iced cookies.
The great thing about Sweet Sugarbelle’s basic sugar cookie recipe is that you can bake perfect cookies and then freeze them so that you have less to do closer to party dates. I made these cookies a while ago now and finally made the time to decorate them. We’ve gone a little bit Hello Kitty mad here lately preparing for an upcoming birthday party for Miss soon to be 4!
The great thing about Hello Kitty is you only need 4 colours of royal icing and technically two of them aren’t really colours at all!
If you haven’t checked out Sweet Sugarbelle’s blog I’d suggest you do so. She is a self confessed cookie making addict and makes them every single day. Her cookies are absolutely amazing and she has some fabulous tutorials and tips for cookie making and decorating.
