I was so lucky to be able to attend Kara’s Party Ideas Australian Tour 2014 yesterday in Newcastle. Have you heard of Kara before? If you love parties then you would know her, she has 233,773 followers on Facebook last time I checked. She is huge in the party world and is known as the Martha Stewart of parties! Another important point about her I’ll add is that she has such a fun personality and was so inspiring to listen to. It was well worth the trip and I’m so glad I managed to meet her properly, tell her about some of my parties (including red riding hood) and get a selfie together!
We spent the morning watching her put together a Boho styled party table that was just stunning. I loved the rope banner with weaving the most. She’s all about the details which I love. There were many other parts to the workshop too including demonstrations by cake and chocolate experts and a great panel of people for a question session.
I have so much fun styling parties and plan to have a few this year so now I’m super pumped with ideas and inspiration.
For the afternoon I attended the Confetti Fair and met some lovely creative people with some amazing businesses. It was just such a fun and creative day. That is what I love most about parties – being allowed to have creative control over a whole event. Some people may call it over the top but I just love it. I thought it was great when Kara suggested organising parties as early as possible to spread out the costs and it also gives you time to shop around for the best price. It’s never to early to start planning a party!
If you have the opportunity to attend a Confetti Fair in your state or Kara’s Party Ideas Workshop while she is touring Australia I’d definitely recommend you do so. Check out this link for more details. Organised by our Aussie party girl, the equally as fabulous Sarah better known as Sugar Coated Mama, these two ladies are a wealth of knowledge and inspiration.
