I’ve been busy making some teacher gifts for the end of the school year. My Kindergarten girl was in a class called the Kinder Owls and her teacher loves owls so when I found this Owl Mug Cozy pattern which comes both in a knitted and crochet version I knew I had her teacher gift sorted. The Owl Mug Cozy It isn’t a free pattern (costs a couple of dollars) still its worth it for a very well explained, set out and photographed pattern.
There are also different options for the eyes. Most people on Ravelry have done the sleeping eyes (shut) however I made open ones.
I used a simple white mug and then the mug cozy is held on at the back with a pretty wooden button.
There are quite a few ends to sew in so if you don’t do them as you go it can take quite a bit of time at the end and can get a bit boring as sewing in ends usually is! haha
The cozy was made with some Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino from my stash. I do love this yarn as it comes in so many beautiful colours and I have a bit of a collection of lots of them!
Only a few more gifts to go and I’m running out of time! Seems the girls birthday parties ran later this year and I’m a bit behind with Christmas. We have photographed our Christmas card which should arrive from the printer this week so I’ll have to save some time on Thursday and Friday to write on them and post out in time for Christmas.
What teacher gifts have you made this year? I’m always looking for great ideas so please share them with me if you have any.
