This princess party dessert table was fit for a Princess. Our daughter who turned 6 had a princess party with just a few of her female classmates and her best friends.
She loved being Princess for a day. A lovely hairdresser friend of mine came around and did special princess hairstyles in all of our daughter’s hair which made them feel very royal along with their pretty dresses.
I tried to keep things fairly simple and it wasn’t too stressful with only 9 of her friends coming. These were the vanilla cupcakes I made and decorated with pink cream cheese frosting. The crowns were made with cutting out crowns from rolled fondant using a crown template I made so that they were all the same. Then I added some water to one side and stuck the edge together to from a circle. After bending the crown points back slightly I sprayed the crowns with Wilton pearl spray to give them a sparkly pearlescent finish.
These are chocolate raspberry pound cake sandwiches and you can find the recipe used to make these here.
More beautiful biscuits from Biscuits by Design. There were two different types of crowns and a pretty pink princess carriage as well. They were quite large in size so there were a few left over which enabled me to gift one to everyone to take home as well as their lolly bag.
The centrepiece was the princess castle cake I made and there were also other treats like marshmallows in apothecary jars, lollies, pink meringue tree, popcorn and it all looked so pretty on the sparkly silver sequin tablecloth.
A good friend of ours brought around her daughter’s pony called “Icecream” and the party girls set to work dressing her up like a princess by adding ribbons to her mane and sparkly pink fabric over her saddle.
Plus a tiara of course. Doesn’t she look like a real princess? Too cute I say.
Every child had a princess pony ride around our oval and had their photo taken. It was pretty hot and afterwards it was time to come back inside for some refreshments.
Another successful party and a very special day to remember. She is our special little princess and always will be.
