This gorgeous yarn has been sitting in my craft room calling out to me to make something with it. When I saw it at Morris & Sons Sydney it had to come home with me. I loved the colours and feel of this yarn which is Manos del Uruguay Maxima in colour 7121 M – Marie Antoinette. It is 100% extra fine merino and comes in a 100g hank which is 200m in length or 219 yds.
I found this pattern which I liked and decided to make it with the Manos del Uruguay yarn. It’s called “Chevron Lace Scarf” and it’s a free pattern over at Moogly. The pattern is very clear and given in written and chart form which is great. They join the two ends of their scarf to make it an infinity scarf however seeing as I only had one skein of yarn and it wasn’t quite long enough I decided to leave the ends open like a regular scarf instead.
Made using a 4.0 mm hook it was a very rewarding project to crochet with the refreshing colour changes in this yarn that is remarkably soft. There are some other gorgeous colours available so do go over to Morris & Sons website to have a look.
The light wasn’t great still my daughter kindly snapped this photo this morning of the scarf on me so you can see it what it looks like.
You can find my Ravelry and the details here.
Do you like it? Do you prefer an infinity style scarf? Have you used Manos Maxima yarn before? If so what did you make with it?
