Cascade Skirt Pattern By Megan Nielsen

Cascade Skirt Pattern By Megan Nielsen

You know those days when you’re not sure if you want to wear a short skirt or a long one? This is the perfect pattern to make for those days when you just can’t decide.

This gorgeous pattern by Megan Nielsen features a full wrap skirt with graduated hem that cascades along the hemline. I purchased mine from the lovely Helene at Stitch 56.

There are instructions for optional lining for sheer fabrics however I actually decided not to use a lining for mine even though it is sheer as I wanted to be able to see the beautiful pattern on the fabric from both sides.

This fabric is called Licorice Surprise and was purchased from Tessuti Fabrics. It’s a designer block printed 100% cotton voile in a width of 148cms.

The pattern includes three different waistband options – a button up wrap skirt, a wrap skirt with ties at the back or  one that ties at the front. I didn’t want any bulk around my waist so opted for the button up version and used these La Mode buttons from Spotlight.

As the fabric was so light I used french seams to give a nice neat look seeing as the skirt moves around and you will sometimes see your seams inside.

This pattern was super easy to make and didn’t take long at all which is always a win win!

The skirt has some great movement with it and if you wear a slip underneath you don’t need to worry about being caught out by the wind.

Most of the time I’m pretty indecisive about what to wear so this skirt is perfect. Well I think I’m indecisive but I’m just not sure! Haha

Are you indecisive? Would you wear a skirt like this? Have you made one before?

    1. Yes I am VERY indecisive. 2. I sure would. 3. I’ve just made my first wrap skirt, a Nita.
