I’ve always loved Christmas and all the magic that it brings.
When I got married and started my own family we built our own collection of Christmas decorations that would be used every year. Starting from scratch I decided it would be a nice idea to make at least one special item for every Christmas. Having a child born on Boxing Day has made this goal hard to keep but I do try!
I have a craft book called Hooley Dooley Christmas by Suzanne Gray which had this cute Christmas tree skirt pattern inside. I started it in June one year and was lucky I did as it took quite a while to make. All the designs are applique which I did using my sewing machine.
I used fabric called fairy frost by Michael Miller Fabrics which has a nice kind of shimmer to it.
There are lots of cute button embellishments on the tree skirt too. All the flowers have buttons and I found some cute Christmas themed buttons to add as well.
I had to add this cute photo of my daughters pretending to be the Christmas tree.
I look forward to putting up the Christmas tree every year with help from the girls and love the colourful tree skirt I made. It helps to make the tree look pretty when you aren’t organised enough to have anything under it until just before Christmas. Speaking of gifts there is still not one present underneath! We did the first of our shopping yesterday but haven’t had a moment to wrap anything yet.
Are there many presents under your tree yet?
