I have been meaning to share with you some pictures of the beautiful purple knitted capelet that my mum knitted for me for my birthday. The pattern and yarn came from the Morris and Sons shop in Sydney but they also have it available on their website.
It was made with 4 balls of Morris Paddington 6ply yarn which is 80% bamboo and 20% merino and comes in 18 different colours. I loved the gorgeous purple of the colour they call Dover.
A capelet is the name for a small cape which covers the shoulders and works really well with my 7 month baby belly, jazzing up an outfit beautifully. The word capelet sounds very royal to me (apparently the first known use of a capelet was in 1912) so I thought it would be quite fitting to wear last Friday night to watch the royal wedding.
Thanks Mum, I love love love it.
