This is a cute little project that my husband actually made for our daughters. Playing shops, florists, hairdressers etc are some of our daughters favourite games to play so we made a kids blackboard sign for them.
Using a piece of wood measuring 16 x 8 and a garden stake he glued the two pieces together. Sharpening off one of the ends of the pole so that it could put pushed into the ground to enable them to play pretend games outside.
Using some blackboard paint he painted the piece of wood so that the girls could write on the sign with the name of whatever game they are playing.
There are so many things they could write on this sign. I can picture it being used for welcoming guests to parties, giving directions to hidden treasure, a Santa stop here sign and it would be great for lemonade or cake stalls. The kids often put it outside their cubby house and use it to write on what game they are playing together.
You can also get coloured chalkboard paint these days so if you didn’t want the traditional grey it would look fun in other colours to match your theme.
See Dads can be crafty too! If youre looking for more “CraftsMANship” inspiration here is another project he whipped up for us.
