Little boy was getting a cold head and the cute owl hat I made him doesn’t fit him anymore. I want to make him another one but decided to try something different first. While searching for free crochet patterns online I found this cute teddy bear hat and thought I’d make one. It’s actually a bit big for him so next in line was Miss 3 who is dress up mad and was very excited about looking like a cuddly teddy bear.
The free teddy bear crochet hat pattern is available here from Micah Makes website and is for a versatile crochet hat with ear flaps and then you can make the plain hat into a teddy bear hat by making and adding the ears (instructions here).
Having never used Alpaca yarn before and wanted to try some out. I found this chocolate brown Moda Vera Husky yarn at Spotlight and it is 100% baby alpaca. It was a bit chunkier than usual (hence my hat turned out too big) so it hooked up really quickly and easily.
