Still hungry? After all the kids eat at birthday parties I can’t believe they still are. I made these Very Hungry Caterpillar Party Lolly Tins for our themed party.
I wanted something a bit different for the lolly bags for our very hungry caterpillar party and was trying to think of something fun like the lady beetle lolly boxes I made a couple of years ago now. After scouting about the internet and dollar stores and only finding glass jars (which aren’t really a safe idea for little kids) I found these little tins with see through lids on ebay.
After briefing my creative team (read husband) he designed me these strips printed on sticky labels to stick around the outside of the tins.
I found caterpillars, fruit, mini ice-cream cones, mint balls and some caterpillar cocoons (clinkers) to fill the tins with. Inside every child was also given a badge with a very hungry caterpillar picture from the book. My two eldest daughters were home on school holidays and loved helping count out the lollies for the take home gifts.
Most of the time you need to work out how many kids you are making lolly bags for as that will guide you with what is actually possible (in terms of making them) and also what is affordable. 40 lolly tins all stacked up here.
