Be careful in the woods little red riding hood, I can see a wolf in the background.
I’t’s been a long time between Blythe doll posts, probably since before we moved house so this one is well overdue.
When I made this crochet cape back in September last year for my youngest daughter (details in the post here) I wanted to try and make a mini version for one of our Blythe dolls and since I already had a Blythe sized basket ready to fill with goodies for Grandma it had to be a cape all in red for a red riding hood Blythe.
Using one of my favourite crochet books of all time, Linda Permann’s Little Crochet and a few balls of DMC 5 perle crochet cotton in bright red I set to work on the cape with a doll close by to check the fit on her. I didn’t have to alter the pattern much as it was just a scaled down version using a smaller crochet hook and much finer yarn. I actually made it a while ago now so hard to remember but I think maybe I had to make the hood part just a bit longer to fit Blythe’s beautifully oversized head.
Such a cute outfit with her matching red shoes and plain white dress underneath. She is still wearing this on display at home in my glass cabinet.
The red riding hood cape does look good on Bow Wow Trad (BWT) Blythe with her long dark hair but I do also like a blonde red riding hood. Stay tuned for some details of the sweetest blonde red riding hood you ever did see!
So in your books is little red riding hood a blonde or brunette?
