Instead of a gingerbread house like previous years, this year I made gingerbread cookies cut out into mini Christmas trees, gingerbread men and Christmas baubles.
Using these cookie cutters made it easy when you push the design elements on top of the cookie it made them all neat and matching for me to pipe the royal icing on to.
The gingerbread men are my favourite.
I used this gingerbread recipe from Taste.com.au.
These Sambellina party treat boxes in craft brown that I had in my craft room were the perfect containter to put some gingerbread cookies into.
I punched a hole in the top left hand corner using a single hole punch and threaded through a cute swing tag I found at Kikki K to seal and label the Christmas treats.
This post was meant to be up earlier but with a few unexpected events just before Christmas everything was very last minute this year. We made it though and had a lovely day celebrating with family yesterday. Today it is our eldest daughter’s birthday (she’s 8) and as always we are making a big fuss of her to feel special on Boxing Day. I’ll post some details about her pool party that we had a little while ago when everyone has had enough Christmas cheer.
So Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope you have a wonderful break with some time to reflect and cuddle those you hold dear.
