Surprise! Easter is this coming weekend.
This is what I have been working on lately. An personalised easter basket for Zenon. He needed one the same as his sisters (except not pink!) with his own initial on the front.
Our little 20 month old is walking around sprouting new words every day and doesn’t miss a trick. There is no way he will not be sharing in the easter egg hunt on Sunday. Don’t worry I won’t let him have too much chocolate, I’ll help him. tehe
These are the personalised easter baskets I made for our daughters two years ago on my crafty mum blog. I did have another ball of the pink just in case No. 4 was another beautiful little girl.
This is the free Lion brand pattern I used (same as last time). I used 2 balls of Moda Vera Peruvia in blue which I found in the sale bin at Spotlight for $4 each. The edging and letter are made using some left over Moda Vera Pure wool.
Digging my crochet hook into the existing basket stitches I stitched onto the top with the white to make his “Z”.
When I saw some cute blue bunny ears at the newsagent for $2 I thought I’d save myself some time making them when they were so cheap. Using some fluffy wool I made a pom pom with my Clover Pom Pom maker and sewed it onto his short sleeved plain blue Bonds vest just to add to his cute outfit. I was going to photograph him in his Bonds onesie but it was just too hot.
He really thought he was a bunny and started hopping around the oval which was so super cute that I thought I’d post a video here for you to see him in bunny action.
Here is a link to a smaller basket pictured above which is a nice gift size to make for friends or relatives and some pictures of other easter projects I’ve created over the last few years. Easter bunny badges, carrot treats and chocolate nests here.
We still have to brief the Easter bunny for Sunday but at least the baskets are sorted. Are you organised for Easter or has it just come around too quickly for you as well this year?
P.S. I’ve added this post to a linky party over at And Sew We Craft
