I’ve been doing some more crafting lately for the school craft stall for the fete later in the year. When I saw this cute crochet bath pouf pattern I thought it would be a perfect item to make for the stall as it only takes one ball of yarn and it hooks up in no time at all.
Using Moda Vera Bamboo Cotton (70% bamboo and 30% cotton) from Spotlight which is perfect for face washers and bath or shower puffs because of the antibacterial properties. It is also more absorbent due to the bamboo content in the yarn. I still have and use these washcloths I made with the same yarn back in March 2011 and they still look as good as new.
You can find the free pattern over here at Daisy Cottage Designs. If you do use the Moda Vera Bamboo Cotton yarn I mentioned above you do have to make a slight adjustment to the pattern as there is not quite enough yarn on one ball. For the final row instead of doing 3 double crochets in each stitch you will need to do a pattern of one dc in one stitch and then 2 dc in the next stitch and so on. The 70 metre balls are not quite long enough for this pattern but it still looks fluffy enough with this alteration.
You’ll find the Ravelry link over here.
Four down and I have a few more balls of this yarn to make some more. I’m thinking they would also make a lovely gift packaged together with a bar of soap or some body wash.
Great quick little project don’t you think?
