Here’s a cute and easy craft idea to share the Valentine’s Day love with the whole family. These felt straw toppers are simple shapes that easily sit on the top of pretty paper straws and make a simple drink into an act of love.
All you need is some felt in pink and red and some DMC perle 8 cotton in white or your preferred stitching colour.
Cut out some felt shapes and then pin them carefully to the top of some paper straws to hold them in place while you use your perle cotton to stitch around the shapes to sew them together and hold them to the straw.
Then pop them in some strawberry milk, a smoothie, pink lemonade or if it’s for an adult some bubbles.
Kisses and hugs work well on the straws and there are lots of colour combinations that would work. I love the colour combination of the teal straws with the light pink felt and then white stitching to match the white in the straws.
The make great props for photo shoots too as you can see in these next two photos that would look so sweet as the cover for a Valentine’s Day card.
Red felt heart straw toppers also look great with the teal straws.
Why don’t you surprise someone you love with their favourite drink complete with a felt straw topper? I’m sure they’ll feel the love if you do.
Please feel free to pin my pictures to Pinterest or share my blog post to anyone you think would be interested. That would make me feel the love too! Hope you have a happy Valentine’s Day.
P.S. I’ve just created the above collage for anyone that would like to pin it to Pinterest for future reference.
