There was a picture over on Pinterest that I pinned a long time ago in the hopes of one day doing the same thing and turning our Little Tikes yellow and red car into a Batmobile or should I say “Zenmobile” for our little toddler son.
We’ve had this little car since our eldest was very small and she’s now 9! It has been used a lot over the years with the girls but not so much with our son. I think now that it is a batman car he wants to ride it more.
After the kids and I gave the car a little carwash I put on some rubber gloves and on a day that wasn’t windy spray painted the little tikes car all black. It took a couple of coats to cover the red and I probably used about 2 1/2 cans of spray. I bought the spray paint from the $2 shop as it’s pretty cheap there compared to Bunnings but they only had Matt Black so I’m afraid that had to do.
Using my Silhouette Cameo machine we created some yellow vinyl stickers to personalise his “new” car. We’ll probably keep it in the shed when he’s not using it rather than leave it out in the elements so that it last a bit longer.
He seems very happy with it!
It was great to have the car out for his Batman party and the party was good motivation to finally makeover his little car.
Do you have a little tikes car? Are you hoping to makeover yours one day too?
