When we have a party we aways dress up somehow in theme. It was getting a bit complicated for our Batman party when everyone wanted to be a different character like Catwoman, The Joker, Robin etc so to make things easier I decided that we would do things a cheaper way by making our own Batman party tshirts.
You might have spotted the tshirt we made on our little boy on the Little Tikes Batman car makeover post I wrote earlier in the week.
You can always find cheap plain tshirts at Target or BigW so I picked up a plain black or blue tshirt for every member of the family. The Batman logo has changed and developed over the years so we picked a few different Batman designs and then put our own words inside. The birthday boy was of course “Batboy”.
Using some yellow flocked heat transfer material and my silhouette cameo I cut out the designs in reverse then weeded out the design and ironed it on to each tshirt using a very hot iron for about 45 seconds.
The whole family had a tshirt or shirt to wear. Our eldest wanted to wear her own sequinned Batman top that she already had but the rest of us were all part of the Batfamily. Batman was very impressed!
Using a themed tshirt is a fun and easy way to make sure everyone is matching for a cute party photo and doesn’t cost as much as lots of different dress up outfits. We made Very Hungry Caterpillar Party Tshirts for Zenon’s party 2 years ago and they looked great in the photos and I’ve also screen printed party tshirts before for our Blythe Doll Tea Party.
I’ve still got the Batman cake, lolly boxes and a party wrap up to share with you here on the blog so I hope you’re enjoying pictures and information about our Batman party. Maybe it has inspired you with some new ideas for your upcoming parties.
Do you and your children enjoy dressing up for kids parties?
