Here is another fun knitted necklace pattern I found. The perfect travel project and would make a lovely handmade gift.
I was looking for a good travel project to take to The Craft Sessions craft retreat I went on recently and this is one of the ones I took with me. I needed something to knit while on the train and plane for my 7 hour journey to the Yarra Valley and back again. There is another big project on the go but I wasn’t going to risk having my carbon fibre knitting needles confiscated at the airport so I checked that project in with my main luggage.
I’ve heard that they don’t mind wooden knitting needles on board a plane so this project was perfect as all I needed was my little bamboo double pointed needles. Basically the pattern is three different lengths of knitted i-cord so pretty easy to make and great for when you’re tired and as you don’t need to concentrate on much. Just keep knitting!
She has some fantastic designs over on Ravelry and this is the 3rd project I’ve knitted from her designs. The other two were the nardoo shawl and the super easy knitted bangles I made as Christmas gifts last year.
Now I’m afraid I can’t remember the name of this yarn as it was just in my stash without any labels on. Having said that it is really a great project for using left over yarn and I like the nice shine this one has to it. It would also make a lovely gift and maybe some of you are already getting organised for Christmas! I’m not that organised but I’ve heard talk and I see some shops have Christmas decorations for sale.
Have you started making some Christmas gifts? Do you take carbon fibre knitting needles on plane trips? What colours would you use for this necklace?
