Looking for a homemade gift with a bit of a difference? This Petarli knitted lace necklace makes the perfect gift for someone who appreciates something unusual that is crafted with your own hands.
You can find this pattern and many others over on Ravelry in Ambah O’Brien’s store. She has some other lovely accessories you can knit there too like a bangle and another i-cord necklace which I’ve made before. Accessories are not her only patterns though, Ambah has some gorgeous shawl designs and they’re lovely clear and well written patterns. You can check out my Pardoo shawl, Allira shawl or my recently finished (but not yet blogged) gradient Inara Wrap to get a taste of what other beautiful patterns Ambah has designed.
Knitted with Madelinetosh unicorn tail yarn in the colour Edison Bulb which is not for the faint hearted and really pops a pretty neon punch to any outfit. I made this for my lovely friend and neighbour as she doesn’t shy away from bold colours and recently showed me a new work jacket she bought that I thought would go perfectly with this necklace. It was her 50th birthday recently so that definitely deserved something special and handmade.
I’ve knitted this pattern before as another gift in a beautiful yellow and I’m sure this won’t be the last one. It’s the perfect pattern for leftover yarn and all you need is a pretty little button to add to the back of the i-cord to secure it around your neck.
What is your favourite Ambah O’Brien pattern? Have you ever thought about knitting accessories before?
