Swimmers, Togs, Cozzies, Speedos

Swimmers, Togs, Cozzies, Speedos – what do you call them? I grew up calling them cozzies, but find that my kid call them swimmers, so that’s what I tend to say these days so they know what I’m talking about.

In an effort to be a more “fun mum” I’ve taken to doing something spontaneous on a Tuesday afternoon after school, as that is one of the only days we don’t have an after-school activity. One favourite surprise the kids love is when I tell them I’ve packed everything and we are going straight from the school bus stop to the beach.

Living on the central coast, we are lucky enough to be able to get to the beach in 20 minutes and enjoy a good few hours’ fun  splashing around, especially now it’s daylight saving. We can get a prime parking spot right in front of the beach, there is hardly any traffic to get there and it’s not super crowded. Bliss.

Recently I was gifted some fun bright Speedo swimmers for my smallest girl and lil man to try out and review so they gave them a big workout at the beach. They stood the making “sand angels” test with scarcely any sand creeping into these cool bike shorts swimmer pants.

My daughter, who can be quite particular, loved the purple watermelon one-piece and it came at the perfect time for school swimming lessons too.

The racer back style straps are great as it means she’s not fiddling with straps that are falling off her shoulders all the time.

These two are such sweet buddies at the moment. Even though the gap between my four kids is nearly all the same (2 years), they seem to be the closest pair at the moment.

Hours of fun in the sand for this one, he loves the stuff. Personally I just hate it when I jump into bed at night and find gritty sand between the sheets. Usually t’s after he’s been to pre-school and he’s accidentally filled his pockets with the stuff!

Since they’re quite fair-skinned, I like to have the option of a rashie to put on when they’ve had enough sun and the Speedo ones used fabric that dried very fast.

The bright robot rashie was great for helping me see my son when he was swimming in the surf as a group of nippers showed up for a bit of training later on and there ended up being quite a few kids at the beach.

I’ve purchased Speedo Swimwear before and have never been disappointed with the quality. They last a long time and are styles are both classic and fun.  Over summer my kids will give these a massive workout with hours in the pool and at the beach. If you’re interested in reading about what I and some other mums had to say for our review of Speedo you can find it  here on the Babyology website.

*FYI – I was gifted these swimmers from Speedo Australia to take part in a review for the Babyology Website, however all opinions are my own.
